My dance experience runs to a total of 25+ years having grown up learning, performing and teaching tap, jazz & classical ballet. I then discovered bellydance and was intrigued by the skill, power, grace and rhythmic basis of the dance. It connected me to the earth, fellow dancers and the audience in a way that I felt was the ultimate creative expression of the wonder and beauty of being a woman…..and I have never looked back!

Bellydancing since 1993, I have studied various forms of bellydance but I now specialise in American Tribal Style (ATS) & alternative styles of bellydance.

I commenced learning ATS in 2002 and have participated in a number of National & International workshops in this genre.  Certified by Kajira Djoumahna of BlackSheep BellyDance in Maui, Hawaii to teach Level 1 ATS in her format in 2005, I have commenced training with her to be certified to teach Level 2 of her format. I completed the General Skills for ATS with Carolena Nericcio of the original ATS dance company - Fat Chance Belly Dance in 2007.

Some highlights of my training in alternatives styles of Bellydance include a week long Intensive in August 2005 in Maui with Rachel Brice (The Indigo & Bellydance Superstars) and in May 2006 I attended Tribal Fest (San Francisco, USA) participating in various workshops. I have also taught at various Australian premier dance festivals including WAMED (2011), Tribal & Trance Festival and Fire in the Belly (2010). 

I also perform solo as "FiFi Noir", performing my own unique style of Nouveau Fusion Bellydance and Gothique Fusion Bellydance along with Fire (Fans, Palm candles & Poi) fusion dance.

I continue my learning at every opportunity, attending and teaching workshops whenever my schedule permits. I look forward to meeting you and sharing with you my love of this incredibly beautiful dance that is as varied and individual as the women who perform it.

Apart from my pursuits within the realm of Bellydance, I am also an Executive Board member of AUSDANCE ACT and I have been involved in Inclusive Dance Projects within the ACT since 2008.
